Paul Davis

Paul Eugene Davis, age 88 of Chillicothe, Ohio received his eternal reward on Tuesday August 1, 2017.  Paul Davis was an amazing man of faith. This was clearly seen in his life as faithful husband and loving father. His captivating smile and gentle ways were evidence of his devotion to his family and friends. He loved everyone. To know him was to know his love of the Lord Jesus. He accepted the Lord as his personal Savior on October 11, 1959. He was a faithful member of the Richmond Dale Church of God. Through the years he served in numerous areas of leadership including church councilman, church trustee, Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School teacher. He was voted Layman of the Year for Southern Ohio Church of God, and Laymen of the Year for the Church of God international in 1994. He was born May 18, 1929 in Richmond Dale, Ohio to the late Grant and Ida Davis. He is predeceased by his wife Joyce Eleanor Knapp Davis after 47 years of marriage.   He was also predeceased by his second wife Sylvia Graves Davis after 22 years of marriage. He graduated from Southeastern High School in 1947. He retired from Mead Paper Company in 1986 where he was the Chief of Security. Left to cherish his memory are the children of Paul and his wife Eleanor including; Debbie Sweet and her husband James, Terry Davis and His wife Pam, Gary Davis and his wife Teresa, Steve Davis and his wife Darlene, Diana Hocker and her husband Rick. 12 grandchildren Lori Adams, Tanya Gee, Mike Adams, Terry Davis Jr, Carrie Kessler, Brandon Davis, Clay Davis, Julie Mauldin, Rachel Pinner, Steven Davis, Felicia Barton and Preston Hocker.   He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are step children, Ralph Graves, Sharon Swackhammer, Janet Cheadle, Ricky Graves; as well as step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Theresa Peecher, Alice Davis, Sarah Jane Wood, Virginia Wood and Margaret McGarvey and brothers, Charles Davis, Ulysses Davis and Calvin Davis. The family and friends of Paul Davis share in his faith and anticipate a glorious reunion with him in eternity. 1 Thessalonians 4:18 For the dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. A visitation will be held on Friday August 4 th from 6pm-9pm at Haller Funeral Home 1661 Western Avenue Chillicothe, Ohio. A funeral service will be held August 5 th at 11am at the Richmond Dale Church of God.  Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery.
