Patricia M. Rucker, 72, of Chillicothe, died 2:11 pm, September 11, 2022, at her home, following a two-year battle with cancer.
She was born July 11, 1950 in Ironton, OH to the late Howard E. and Alice Dootson Mayo. On July 12, 1975 she married James A. Rucker, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Aaron Rucker, Dayton, OH and Christina (Peter) Kristian, Hilton Head Island, SC; a grandchild, Madison Fly; five siblings, Hellen Mayo, Alice (Bobby) Robinson, Joe Mayo, Susan (Phil) Klausman, and John (Glenna) Mayo, and numerous nieces and nephews, who were each very special to her. She was preceded in death by a sister, Deanna Hudson.
Mrs. Rucker taught Home Economics for the Southeastern School District and the Pickaway Ross JVS. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and all kinds of crafts. She was a member of the Chillicothe Baptist Church and founding member of the Scarlet Thread Sewing Ministry.
Following cremation, a Celebration of Life service will be held 12:00 pm, Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Chillicothe Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made payable to Chillicothe Baptist Church, (for benefit of the Scarlet Thread Ministry), 14000 SR 104, Chillicothe, OH 45601 in her honor.
