Patricia A. (Hitchens) Ragland, of Chillicothe, passed away from this life to her heavenly home on December 10, 2015 at Zusman Hospice Home, Bexley, OH. Patricia was born July 24, 1931, in Chillicothe, to the late Charles Hitchens and Dorothy Cousins Hitchens Harris. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Charles, Carl Ed and Robert Hitchens; and a sister Margaret Fairrow. Patricia married Franklin E. Ragland on January 27, 1961, who survives. Also surviving are two sons: Carl M. (Toni) Hitchens, of Frankfort; and Stacey L. Hitchens, of Columbus. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as 3 sisters: Frances Woodard, Judith Seward and Sonya (Jacob) Powell, all of Chillicothe; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Patricia graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1949 and attended Central State University in Wilberforce, OH. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a missionary and as a deaconess. She retired from the Chillicothe Country Club and the YMCA child daycare. Patricia will be greatly missed by many and her dog "Pat-chez II." To God be the glory for the things He has done. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Monday at Zion Baptist Church, 84 S. Clinton Rd., with Dr. Rev. J. Troy Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7pm at Haller Funeral Home.
