Patricia Mcroberts

June 18, 1930 — May 9, 2025

Patricia Ruth McRoberts , 94, of Chillicothe, peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2025. She was born on June 18, 1930, to Maxwell and Isabelle (Strauser) Dearth. Her mother passed away in January of 1932; therefore, she was raised by her grandparents, Evelyn and Harley Dearth.

Patricia began school in Centralia (Zane Trace) but moved to Chillicothe her freshman year, graduating in 1948. After graduation, she began her career at the Chillicothe Gazette . Patricia was talented and deeply dedicated to her work. She advanced through the Gazette, beginning as a clerk in the Circulation Department, moving to Classified Advertising, and eventually becoming the first woman promoted to Promotion Manager. In this role, she earned many awards for the Gazette and retired after 22 years of service.

Patricia met the love of her life, Charles "Jack" McRoberts, in high school. They were sweethearts who went their separate ways after graduation but found their way back to one another years later. Pat and Jack were married on January 28, 1970, and spent 30 wonderful years together before Jack passed away in 2000.

Pat and Jack loved to travel the world together. They visited all 50 states besides North Dakota, which Pat never had a desire to see. They also traveled to South America and stopped at many of the small islands along the way. In addition to their adventures, Pat and Jack owned Pat 'n Jack's Restaurant in Chillicothe, a beloved downtown hangout for many years.

Patricia was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She cherished time with her family, enjoyed day trips, shopping, exploring, and going to the casino to play slot machines.

She is survived by her loving family, who will honor and cherish her memory: her children, David (Eileen) Wollenburg of Fort Myers, FL; Amy (Tony) Strausbaugh of Chillicothe; Ric McRoberts of Grove City; and former daughter-in-law Janna McRoberts of Washington Court House. Her grandchildren: Matthew Park, Ashlee (Kurt) Engel, Shane (Miranda) Sheets, Jake Sheets, Kimberly Strausbaugh, Paige (Tyler) Rose, and Jaycie (Jacob) Knisley. Her great-grandchildren: Grace Engel, Tucker Sheets, Drake Sheets, Mallory Sheets, Iris Strausbaugh, Gage Strausbaugh, and Marlee Rose.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Jack) McRoberts, and two of her children, Kay Spires and Mark McRoberts.

Patricia will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
