Patricia Jean McGowan, a cherished resident of Frankfort, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9th, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on a warm Sunday, July 11th, 1937, in Chillicothe, Ohio, Patricia's life was a testament to love, dedication, and adventure.

She is survived by her loving family: her daughters Desiree Jean Howell (David) of Chillicothe and Lynette Dawn Grigsby (Wayne) of Frankfort, and her son Todd Anthony McGowan of Chillicothe. Patricia was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Joy Atwood (Robert) of Gallipolis.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Robert Sherman Bethel and Grace Ann Bethel, her husband, Freddie William McGowan, her cherished grandchild, Chad Anthony Johnson, her siblings Ray V. Bethel, Paul Bethel, Marjorie Williams, Opal McCullough, Robert Bethel, Mildred Christopher, and Helen James

Patricia pursued her education with a dedication that led her to earn an Associates Degree, a foundation for her work as a Financial Secretary at the 1st Presbyterian Church. Her professional life reflected her meticulous nature and commitment to those she served.

Outside of her professional life, Patricia's heart was full of passions that kept her spirit youthful and vibrant. She cherished time with family and friends, delighting in their company. An avid reader, she found solace in books, while the simple joy of walking mirrored her thoughtful approach to life.

Perhaps one of Patricia's most adventurous loves was motorcycle rides around the United States with her beloved husband, Freddie. Together, they embraced the freedom of the open road, creating countless memories.

Patricia's bond with her dog, Luna, highlighted her nurturing soul and the simple joys she found in everyday companionship. Her life was a beautiful blend of relationships and experiences that filled her days with happiness and fulfillment.

In celebrating Patricia Jean McGowan's remarkable life, her family and friends hold her memory close, grateful for the legacy of love she leaves behind. Her presence will be dearly missed, but the light she brought into the world will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.

In keeping with Patricia's wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
