Patricia Ann "Patsy" (Hortel) Hardy
Patsy was born at Langley AF Base in Hampton, VA on August 16, 1945, the daughter of John and Harriet Hortel. She spent her childhood years living in Ironton and Waverly, Ohio and graduated from Waverly HS in 1963. At the age of 18 she attended Morehead State University in Kentucky. She later moved to Southern California where she lived most of her life and raised her three children. She built a career in the restaurant and hospitality industry culminating in roles as restaurant and catering manager before she transitioned to a second career as a health and safety inspector for the State of California.
Patsy was a devoted mother and wife and an extremely generous and caring person. She expressed her love for people through gifts, acts of service and hospitality. Most importantly Patsy loved Jesus. Patsy married her husband Lloyd on Nov 7, 1998 in Big Bear, CA and they remained devoted to one another until her passing on December 3, 2024 in Hillsborough, NC.
Survived by: Husband Lloyd Hardy, Brother John Hortel, Sister Rebecca Fueger, Son Ric (Marissa) Guerra, Daughter Francesca (Ryan) Phillippi, Grandchildren RJ (Haeven), Katerina, Mason, Brooklyn & Preston. Preceded in death by: Daughter Amanda Simon, Brother Tom Hortel.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, January 4 at Haller Funeral Home in Chillicothe, OH and will be officiated by her son Dr. Ric Guerra, an ordained minister of The Foursquare Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Arise Church www.arisechurchnc.com | 6175 Old Jenks Rd. Apex, NC 27502.
