Patricia Rose Freeman, of Chillicothe, OH passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 10, 2025. She was born in Monaca, PA on June 14, 1941, to the late Walter and Helen Barr.
Graduating from Monaca High School in 1958, she married the love of her life, Chuck, on January 24, 1959. They transferred to Chillicothe in 1966, when Chuck was named plant manager of Union Spring Manufacturing. Patty spent her career working as an Insurance Specialist with Doctors Swartz and Patterson before moving to the Smith and Fleischer Pediatric group. She retired from Adena twice before officially leaving as she always missed coworkers and the feeling of getting up every day and going to work.
Her cheerful outlook was an inspiration to family and friends, and she always looked forward to the next family gathering or card game. Patty Rose loved family vacations, girls' trips to Carol Junes, card club, rug club, and friends from the Good Samaritan Food Pantry.
Patty is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles Freeman Sr. and her children, Charles Jr. (Karen) Freeman, and Tawny Eileen Freeman. She was extremely proud of her grandsons, Nick and Scott (Caleah) Freeman, and her great grandson Ezra, who never failed to bring a smile to her face. Patty was close with her surviving sisters, Helen (Elliott) Williamson, Eileen (Bill) Baker, and brother , Terry Barr. She was also proud of surviving nieces, Terri (Ross) Harris, Rhonda (Will) Shearer, Milena (William) Barr, and nephews, Doug Baker, Jeff (Adrian) Baker, and Michael (Sarah) Barr. In addition to her parents, she was predceased by her brother Walter Barr, Jr. and his wife Mary.
There will be no public viewing. The family would like to thank the Haller Funeral Home for their services, Adena Hospice, nurse Kayla, Dr. Seidensticker and Bill who were such a comfort at a difficult time.
A remembrance gathering for family and friends to pay respects will be held on Thursday, Oct 16, 2025, from 4-6pm at Brookside Church, 2215 Egypt Pike, Chillicothe, OH.
