Pastor Carol A. (Sims) Davis

Pastor Carol Ann (Sims) Davis, 71, of Chillicothe, died on August 7, 2025, at OSU Wexner Hospice of Central Ohio, Columbus. She was born on August 23, 1953, in Chillicothe to the late Clyde Russel and Marge Marie (Rowland) Sims.
Carol married John H. Davis on May 29, 1971, in Chillicothe, and continued for 54 years. They were blessed with 3 children, who survive: Heather R. (Paul) Crocker, Johnny R. (Megan) Davis and Drew A. Davis and his fiancée Gabby Goshorn, all of Chillicothe; also surviving are 7 grandchildren: Jasmine (Blake) Uhrig, DJ Crocker, Jessie Crocker, Ella Cutright, Caden Cutright, Bella Davis, Brody Cutright; one great-granddaughter Lacey Jean Uhrig, all of Chillicothe; brothers Terry (Kay) Sims, of Columbus, and Patrick (Kendra) Sims, Chillicothe; sisters-in-law Cathy Sims, Frankfort, Rhonda Davis; Sheila (Chuck) Stetts and Kay (Lem) Ott; aunts Ellen (Hooks) Rittinger and Ruthie (Hooks) James; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Michael "Mike" Sims; her parents; a nephew Tyler Davis; a great-nephew James Frontz; brothers-in-law Kevin Davis and John Carroll; and in-laws Jack and Helen Davis.
Carol was a graduate of Unioto High School, Class of 1971. She was a stay-at-home mom until the kids went to school, when she worked as a travel agent for several years. At age 41, she was called to God and attended Circleville Bible College, graduating with honors. She attended Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, OH, becoming a Pastor. On June 1, 2002, she graduated with her Master of Divinity and become Associate Pastor at Trinity United Methodist Church and Mt. Carmel Community Church, both in Chillicothe.
Carol liked working to decorate their home per the season as well as working in the flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family, extended family and friends. She always made every holiday special and took extra care to include games for the grandkids. She and John also enjoyed traveling and made it to all 50 states.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Central at OSU Wexner for their care and compassion in Carol's final weeks.
Her funeral service will be held at 11am Wednesday, August 13, at Dry Run Methodist Church, 7759 Egypt Pike, Chillicothe, with Rev. Susan Keeton officiating. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7pm Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, and 1-hour prior to the funeral Wednesday at the church.
