P. Hendershot

Philip Norman "Buckshot" Hendershot, 69, of Frankfort, died Friday, June 19, 2009, in Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born September 11, 1939, in Chillicothe, to the late John G. and Mary G. Zimmerman Hendershot. On September 10, 1966, he married the former H. Joan Maynard, who survives. Also surviving are his son Ty I. Hendershot; son and daughter-in-law Tad and Karla Hendershot; grandchildren: Logan Cody Hendershot; Trent Evan Hendershot, who his Grampy adored; and Carys Rae who Grampy referred to as his little stink; a sister Carolyn Gayle (Richard T.) Krick; sisters-in-law Betty, Helen and Angie Hendershot; numerous nieces and nephews; special cousins Betsy Marsh and Lucille Steed. He was preceded in death by brothers John C., Howard and Richard Hendershot. Norman retired from DuPont in August of 1994 where he worked as a process operator for 30 years. He was a proud member of the Chillicothe High School, Class of 1958. He served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War as a flight mechanic. He was a member of Scioto #6, F & AM; and Order of the Eastern Star, Chillicothe Chapter #419. Norman loved his daily lunches at Carl's Townhouse and the many activities and monthly lunches with the CHS Class of 1958. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, June 24, in the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Norman officiating. The family would like to invite friends to join them at the Olive Garden following the funeral if they would like to do so. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home, where a Masonic Funeral will be held at 7pm immediately followed by an OES service.
