FUNERAL : 1:00 PM Saturday at Haller Funeral Home CALLING HOURS : 11-1 Saturday at Haller Funeral Home Ovid E. Doles, 80, of Chillicothe, died 9:05 pm, January 4, 2011, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.   He was born February 8, 1930 in Ross Co. to the late Rollo and Hazel Thacker Doles.   Survivors include his wife of 49 years, the former Verlyn F. Iery; his five children, Martin Doles, of Torrence, CA, Teresa (John) Roberts, Patsy, Lynn and Jeff (Angie) Doles, all of Chillicothe; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Delbert Doles, of Chillicothe, Robert Doles, of Frankfort, and Tom (Patty) Doles, of Thornville.   He was preceded in death by a son, Doug Doles and a sister, Juanita Holdren.   Mr. Doles was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.   He retired from the Mead Corporation in 1995.   He was a member of Local 731 Pipefitters Union, BPOE 52, Eagles Aerie 600, and the Ross Co. Soil and Water Conservation District.   He loved sports, especially the Buckeyes, Reds and Browns and was an avid card player.   An Elks memorial service, followed immediately by his funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. John Burris officiating.   Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.   Friends may call 11-1 Saturday at Haller's.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Ross Co. Chapter of the American Red Cross, 115 W. Main St., Chillicothe, OH 45601 to benefit of their blood drives.
