Oscar Conley

Oscar Ray Conley, 75, of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday afternoon, December 18, 2022 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, following an extended illness.

He was born October 15, 1947, in Chillicothe, Ohio, son of the late Merfel and Ruth (Kerry) Conley. On January 13, 1968, he married his beloved wife, Ruth (Kramer) Conley who survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Oscar W. Conley, Rocky Ray Conley, Marty Robert Conley, and Todd Parsons; grandchildren, Malea Gray, Kaytlin Conley, Merfel (Shaina) Conley, Rocky Ray Conley, Jr., Brandon (Koren) Conley, Ruthie Mae Conley, Mariah Conley, Shyanne Conley, Todd Parsons, and Helana Parsons; 13 great-grandchildren;  two siblings, Jack (MaryAnn) Conley, and Karen Burger; a brother-in-law, Donald Wayne Hamner; sister-in-law, Barbara Conley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ward Conley, Merfel Conley, Patsy Bethel, and David (Shirley) Conley; and a sister-in-law, Linda Hamner.

Oscar was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army, serving from October 16, 1964 to July 13, 1966. He went on to work for Chilpaco in Chillicothe and retired in 2010. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed taking family camping trips.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Haller Funeral Home with Pastor John Hocker officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation on Tuesday from 12:00pm until the time of the service.
