Orland Long

Orland "Junior" Warren Long, 76, Chillicothe, died at 11:00am, February 2, 2015 at his home, following an extended illness. He was born July 11, 1938 in Chillicothe, to the late Orland Warren, Sr. and Luvina Maebelle (Kuhn) Long. He is survived by his long time love, Dorothy Overly; his children, Brad (Julie) Long, Wayne Messer, Beth Corrigan, and Robin (Justin) Waugh, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Autumn Dunn, Tony and Chelsea Messer, Katelen Acord, Jacob Waugh, Macy Long, and Ava Waugh; great-grandchildren, Sophia Messer and Mason Acord; one sister, Mary Schrake, and a special niece, Patty McInturff. In addition to his parents, Orland was preceded in death by a son, Ted Long. Orland was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served in Germany. He retired from the City of Chillicothe Utilities Department after 54 years of loyal service. He was an avid horseman and was a founding member of the Mt. Logan Riding Club. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to join the family at Brookside Church Senior Center on Saturday February 7, 2015 at 2:00pm for a celebration of life.
