Ollie Porter

Ollie Irene Porter, 89, of Chillicothe, died 11:45 pm, Monday, September 3, 2018, at National Church Residences-Chillicothe, following a brief illness.

She was born August 6, 1929 in Delaware, OH to the late Troy Herschel and Ina Irene Robinson Myers. On May 1, 1948 she married E. Clayton Porter, who died February 14, 2002. Survivors include four daughters, Margaret (Dr. John) Maxwell, Palm Beach, FL, and her children, Elizabeth Miller and Joel Porter Maxwell; Mary Wipert, Charlotte, NC, and her children, Eric and Troy McCullough and Jessica Scott; Martha (Mark) Steele, Chillicothe, and her children, Heather Steele, Amanda Lynch and Hannah Steele; and Ruth Frey, Chillicothe, and her children, Chad and Nathan Frey and Katie Renner; 23 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by several siblings.

Mrs. Porter retired from the Adena Health System as a ward clerk. She was a founding member of Brookside Church where she served with the Sunday School and the Youth Ministry programs.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm Friday at Brookside Church, with her son-in-law, Dr. John Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
