Norman Stern

Norman F. Stern, Sr., 84, of Chillicothe, died at 10:11am September 3, 2016, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital following a brief illness. He was born December 21, 1931, in East Liverpool, OH, to the late Frederick and Victoria (Lambright) Stern. On July 2, 1950, he married the former Patricia A. Brooks, who survives. Also surviving are his sons Norman Stern, Jr. and his fiancée Cindy Moore, both of Leipsic, OH, and Dan (Tami) Stern, Chillicothe; grandchildren Kendra Stern, of Chillicothe, and Dan (Erica) Stern, Jr., of Commercial Point, OH; great-grandchildren Toban Byrd, Serenity Umphries, Erianna Stern, Kendle Stern and Kenley Stern; a sister and brother-in-law Judy (Chuck) Dyke, of East Liverpool; brothers-in-law Jack (Joanne) Brooks, of Texas; and Robert (Shirley) Brooks, of Lisbon, OH; and his best friends Sue and Jim Salyers, Chillicothe. He was predeceased by his step-mother Opal (Stroble) Stern. Norm was a US Army veteran and retired from the White engine plant in 1987. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. At his request, a memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, September 10, at the First Freewill Baptist Church following cremation. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Freewill Baptist Church, 651 Ervin Ave., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
