Norman Sanders

March 14, 1926 — August 18, 2005

Norman D. "George" Sanders, 79, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly at 5:20pm Thursday August 18, 2005, at Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born March 14, 1926, in Middleport, OH to the late Millard and Stella Tucker Sanders. On April 30, 1949, he married the former Marilyn L. McDill, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter and son-in-law Judy (Steven) Cokonougher, of Westerville, OH; daughter Barbara Lawhorn, Chillicothe; grandchildren Amie (Michael) Fleck, Joseph Lawhorn, Jason Cokonougher; great-grandchildren Jacob and Bailey Fleck; sisters Mary Hatfield, Myrtle Kemper, and Ruth Tallmadge; a sister-in-law Lois Sanders; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Dena Hill, Glenn Park, and Tom and Jerri Page. He was predeceased by sisters: Helen Nier, Beatrice Reed, and Margaret Bland; and brothers: Jake and Harold Sanders. Mr. Sanders worked at the former Budd Co. having retired in 1991. He served his country during WWII where he was a Sergeant in the Army. He was a member American Legion Post 757. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, August 22, at Haller Funeral Home. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in McDill Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3-5pm at Haller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Adena Hospice, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe.
