Norma Jean Bettendorf, 85, of Chillicothe, passed away on December 11, 2023, surrounded by family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Everett and Gertrude Spear Trader, and a sister Patricia Snyder. Surviving are her two sons, Paul Stephen (Kim) Bettendorf and David Anthony (Debbie) Bettendorf, of Chillicothe; five grandchildren Tracy (Carey) Ackley, Hadley (Rease) Tatman, Trader (Ryker Nott) Bettendorf, Dalton Bettendorf and Victoria Bettendorf; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Norma was a devout Catholic and attended St Mary Church. She devoted her entire life to her faith and family. She grew up in Chillicothe, OH, and attended Catholic Central High School which is where she met Paul 'Bing' Bettendorf. Norma and Bing were married on July 28, 1956 and shared almost 52 years of marriage.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 pm Monday, December 18, 2023 at St. Mary Church, Rev. Frank Brown, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the St. Mary Family Life Center following the burial.
