Nona Jones

Nona Rowe Hall Jones departed this life at the home of her daughter, Hettie Hall Leake in Londonderry, OH following a brief illness on June 9, 2015, at the age of 91. Nona was born on June 3, 1924, at the Howard Hollow Coal Camp in Chattaroy, WV. She is survived by her son, Luther Rowe Jones (Susan Boothe) of Delbarton, WV; daughters Louise Jones Maloy of Columbus, OH; and Hettie Hall Leake of Londonderry, OH. She is also survived by her granddaughters Hettie Leake Pugh (Michael) of Chillicothe, OH; and Jennifer Jones of Augusta, AK; and grandson, Vinson Maloy of Delbarton, WV. Nona is also survived by great-grandchildren Kaitlyn Meeker (Ross); Christian Pugh and fiancée Ashley Barrera; Emily Maloy and Kendra Maloy Colangelo; as well as special friends, Patsy Farley (Jesse), Allene Ooten (Henry) and Abby Tumbleson (Richard). She was preceded in death by husbands Curtis Hall and John Kelly Jones; parents Luther and Martha Whitt Rowe; son Earnest Kelly Jones; sisters Frances Rowe, Una Rowe Jones and Gladys Rowe; son-in-law Franklin Ruel Leake, Sr.; and grandson Franklin Ruel Leake, Jr. Nona was a retiree of Mingo County School System and was a life member of the Caney Church of Christ. Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm at the Chafin Funeral Home in Delbarton, WV, (304) 475-2071. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday also at Chafin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rowe Cemetery.
