Nolan E. Beatty Nolan E. Beatty, 82, of Chillicothe, died 2:20 pm, May 16, 2007 in the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday, May 21, 2007 in the Original Glorious Church of God in Christ, with Rev. Clifford Brown and Bishop Melvin Maughmer officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by Ross Co. Veteran's Firing Squad, will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Sunday at Haller Funeral Home. He was born June 15, 1924 in Washington CH, OH to Luke and Clara Bryant Beatty. On November 7, 1952 he married Jeanette Bayless, who survives. In addition to his wife, survivors include five daughters, Sherry (Elsworth) Simmons, of London, OH, Noredia (Gary) Smith, Anita (Charles) Brown, Joreen (Mark) Sanders and Eva (Bobby Lee) Beatty, all of Chillicothe; three sons, Karl Locklear, of Columbus, OH, Hal (Patricia) Beatty and James "Mike" (April) Beatty, both of Chillicothe; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Florence Williams, of Xenia, OH, Hazel Powell, of Newark, OH, Nora "Imogene" Simmons, of Columbus, OH, and Nancy "Geraldine" Steward, of Denver, CO; a brother, Clark Beatty, of Compton, CA; a host of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Judy Turner; and special friends, Clifford Brown and Doug Cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren; five sisters and a brother. Mr. Beatty was a World War II Army Veteran, and had retired from the VA Medical Center as a nursing assistant, in 1980, following 32 years of service. He was also employed by Herlihy Moving and Storage.
