Nneka Ndukwe Newlun, 33, of Chillicothe, died at 10:00pm June 9, 2016, at Adena Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 26, 1983, in Nigeria, Abia State, Ndi Uduma Awoke Village in Ohafia, to Mr. Ndukwe Ikpo and Mrs. Charity Ndukwe Ikpo, who survive. She was the beloved wife of Darrell I. Newlun, of Chillicothe; beloved mother to Hollie Newlun, of Frankfort, and Dionte, Donzel and Nigella Newlun, all of Chillicothe; sister of Mr. Sunny Ndukwe and Mr. Uduma Awa; niece to Mr. Kalu Ikpo and Mr. Ogbukwa Ikpo, all of Nigeria; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, whom she dearly loved, survive both here and abroad; and her mother-in-law Phyllis (George) Baker, of Frankfort. Nneka worked as a PCA for Easter Seals and studied phlebotomy at Pickaway Ross CTC. She was an active member of the Philadelphia Fellowship and the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Uduma, Parish, Ndi Uduma Awoke, Ohafia Abia State. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, June 15, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Cliff Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8pm Tuesday at Haller's. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the kids can be made to the Nneka Newlun Memorial Fund, c/o LCNB, 33 W.
