Nina Gibbs

Nina J. Gibbs, 82, of Chillicothe, died at 2:13am Tuesday, January 21, 2015, at Westmoreland Place. She was born November 15, 1932, in Frankfort, OH, to the late Herbert and Mary (Liggins) Gibbs. She is survived by her daughters Kendra Thomas, of Chillicothe; and Kelley Cousins, of Tampa, FL; grandchildren: Lance Gibbs, Kaz Lee, A.J. Cousins, Dexter Sewards and Summer Cousins; great-grandchildren: Brendon, Diamond and Tyson Sewards; Saniya Lee; and Kanae Cousins; and sisters and brothers-in-law Dorothy (Sam) Cooper; and Phyllis (Eugene) Ramsey. She was predeceased by her daughter Kish Sewards; a brother Stewart Gibbs; and a sister Rosemary Holland. Nina had worked at the former Wear-Ever Aluminum Co. and also for the Chillicothe City Schools as a teacher's aide. She was a member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church and former secretary for the NAACP. She loved sports, enjoyed reading and being outdoors. She had a host of friends and was loved by many. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 24, at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church with Pastor Acie Collins officiating and Pastor Clifford Brown, Eulogist. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
