Nicolas Wedebrook
June 6, 1991 — September 2, 2025
Nicolas A. Wedebrook, 34, of Columbus, passed away early Tuesday morning, September 2, 2025 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, following a brief illness.
He was born June 6, 1991, in Chillicothe, Ohio, son of John Wedebrook, and the late Holly Rae (Degen) Wedebrook.
Nic is survived by his beloved fiancé, Virginia "Ginny" May; his daughter, Alexis Wedebrook; his son, Nico Wedebrook; and a sweet baby due in March 2026; his siblings, Mikey (Rhonda) Wedebrook, Kari Wedebrook, Desiree (Cody) Cherry, Gayton Brown, Joe Wedebrook, and Angie Wedebrook; his step-father, Sam Couch, Jr.; his step-brother, Sammy Couch III; as well as numerous other beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Nic was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, class of 2009. He and Ginny were members of One Church in Gahanna, Ohio, where he was baptized in 2022. He had a love for many things, including gaming, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Ohio State Buckeyes, cooking, and fishing. But his greatest joy in his life was his family. Spending time with his fiancé, his children, and family was of the utmost importance in his life. His daughter Alexis was his first true love, his "honeybee". Nic was beyond proud of the young lady she grew into and all of her accomplishments through the years. Nico was, and will always be, Nic's "best friend". They loved playing Pokemon Go together, and especially enjoyed playing Fortnite with Uncle Mikey, Uncle Gator, and Johnny. Nico had the very best dad, one who taught him many life lessons and ALL of the fun stuff! Those memories will be honored and cherished forever. Nico's baby sibling will learn all about daddy's shenanigans, jokes, humor, and most importantly, his love, from Nic's family and friends.
A bright light to many, and one who could always lighten the mood with a good joke or funny comment, Nic was well known by his family and friends for his clever sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and was especially fond of creating memes for the internet. Whether you were a friend or foe, nobody was safe from his practical jokes. But the city can now rest assured knowing that the Chillicothe Star is now safe forever…we think.
In keeping with his lighthearted personality, the family invited friends to join them for a celebration of his life on Monday, September 8, 2025 for visitation from 11:00am-1:00pm. A memorial service will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Dennis Ray officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made directly to Haller Funeral Home to assist with expenses. There is also a Go Fund Me available to assist Ginny and the kids as they navigate the next few months;
