Nelsie Mae Fleshman, 89, of Chillicothe, passed to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, as a result of heart disease. She was born November 23, 1919 to Ernest and Blanche Fleshman in Danese, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, Lenvil, James Anderson, Harold and Loren Fleshman and Leanna Schreack. She is survived by three daughters, Eugenia (Richard) Deem, of Tampa, FL, Vitula (Ronald) Crowe and Lila (William) McDonald, of Chillicothe. She leaves behind seven grandchildren, Daniel and Douglas Deem, David and Todd Crowe, Kimberly Calhoun, Dr. William McDonald Jr., and Danielle Paul, as well as ten great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Anna Fleshman, of Chillicothe; her 98 year-old cousin Elta Gunnor, of Lancaster; and several great nieces and nephews complete her family. Nelsie moved to Chillicothe in the mid-1940's and retired from Alcoa after 33 years of service. She enjoyed her family and working in her flowers and garden. She was a frequent presence at the Ross Co. Senior Citizen Center activities, especially bingo. Affectionately known to family and friends as "Gurn", she would also want to remember her faithful canine, Tristin, and her present buddy, Teddy, who provided her much joy and companionship. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday in the Haller Funeral Home, with Rev. Bruce Viar officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call 5-8 pm Thursday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ross Co. Senior Citizens Center, 1824 Western Ave., or the High St. Church of Christ in Christian Union, 477 N.
