Neil Franklin Countryman, 61, of Chillicothe, OH, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at his residence. He was born November 10, 1950, in Adams Co., OH, son of the late John B. and Gertrude (Douglas) Countryman. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, whom he married April 16, 1988; three daughters: Annette (Doug) Baker, of Hillsboro; Toni (James) Cowin, of Centerville; Cami Lawson, of Chillicothe; one son Jamie (Stacy) Lawson, of Florida. He was blessed with and held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren: Matt, Autumn, Grant, Noah, Bella, Samantha, Kenedy, Payton, Hope and Avey; and one great-grandson: Kobe; three brothers: Charles (Ada) Countryman, of Peebles; Gary (Pam) Countryman, of Dayton; Paul (Teresa) Countryman, of Peebles; two sisters Constance Joy (Meryl Dean) Shoemaker, of Peebles; Julie Countryman, of Peebles; mother-in-law Helen Shoemaker, of Hillsboro; sister-in-law Sherry (Bob) Morrison, of Hillsboro; one brother-in-law Tim (Sandy) Shoemaker, of Hillsboro. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers John Lee Countryman and Kevin Countryman; and two nephews Charlie Countryman and Ryan Countryman. Mr. Countryman was an avid Ohio State University fan. He retired from ODOT with 33 years of service and served in the National Guard. Mr. Countryman's wishes were to donate his body to the Ohio State University Division of Anatomy. At his request, there will be no services held. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Adena Health System, 111 W. Water, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
