Naomi R. Russell, 95, a resident of Traditions of Chillicothe, died at 12:54am May 26, 2005, in Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born May 27, 1909 in Nelsonville, OH, to the late Edmund and Agnes Weakley Evans. On March 12, 1930, she married James M. Russell, who preceded her in death on March 4, 2001. Surviving are her son Robert James Russell, of Tipp City, OH; son and daughter-in-law Donald A. (Janet) Russell, Chillicothe; grandchildren Cynthia (William) Hughes, Piqua, OH; Rebecca Wendling, Tipp City, OH; Robert James, Jr. (Kimberly) Russell, Piqua, OH; Deborah Lynn Russell, and Karen Russell (John) McJunkin, all of McLean, VA; great-grandchildren Amy Hughes, Megan Staudt, Justin Stafford, Jarrod Stafford, Ashley Stafford, Aaron Wendling, Sydney Russell, Dalton Russell, Matthew Russell McJunkin, James Patrick McJunkin; a great-great-grandchild Crile Staudt; and a sister Esther Smith, of Port Clinton, OH. She was predeceased by a brother Leroy Evans and a sister Alice McCauley. Mrs. Russell was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church for over 71 years including the Meshed Group, Sunday School leadership and other church functions. She was also an active member of her community, including scouting, president of Central School P.T.A., the Red Cross Bloodmobile and Salvation Army programs. For many years she provided support for families in developing countries. She worked along with her husband at the former Mutchler Pharmacy in Chillicothe and the former Sloan Pharmacy in Waverly. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. James Grove officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
