Nancy L. (Lawson) Munn, 93, of Chillicothe, died at 4:20pm November 13, 2023, at Adena Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 12, 1930, in Clarksburg, WV, to the late Hassel R. and Gail T. (Wells) Lawson. On April 12, 1957, she married James R. Munn, who preceded her in death on July 8, 1996.
Nancy was blessed with 2 children, who survive: Lisa Munn Diehl, of Chillicothe; and James Munn, Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are grandsons: Christopher Diehl, Chillicothe and Ret. MSGT Thomas (Julia) Diehl, Ft. Collins, CO; and her sister JoAnn (Lawson) Duhl Rose. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her step-father Randolph Wilson; mother-in-law and father-in-law Addie and Ruth Munn; sister and brother-in-law Ruth (Glenn) Stanhope; brother and sister-in-law Robert (Lenore) Lawson; in-laws Perry Duhl, Alice (Lloyd) Pontious, Ruth Ann (Herman) Kinsel, William (Myrtle) Munn.
Nancy moved to Chillicothe in 1944 and was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1948, for which she served as the Class Chairperson. She had worked at BancOhio and Columbus Southern Ohio Electric. She also owned her own business "Hopetown Country Place" before retiring. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, belonged to several service clubs including the Paints Boosters Club. She also served as a Paints Host Mom for over 25 years.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Chaplain Bruce Hines officiating. Private inurnment will be held in Hopetown Cemetery.
