Nancy Jayne Kight, 78, passed away June 20, 2016, at Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born July 20, 1937, in Grafton, WV, to the late Thomas B., Sr. and Margaret A. (Dougherty) Jenkins. On May 26, 1963, she married Robert W. Kight, Sr., who survives. Also surviving are her children: Judith A. Kight, Robert W. (Mary) Kight, Jr., and Kelly M. (Chad) Thompson, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Tiffany A. Kight, Joseph M. Kight and Michael T. Rigsby, Jr.; step-grandchild Rachael A. Lowry; step-great-grandchild Abby M. Clevinger; sisters Joanie Newlon and Betty Kay Phillips; and a brother Thomas B. Jenkins, Jr., all of Grafton, WV; an uncle Robert Dougherty, of Tiffin, OH; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and two infant brothers, James and William Jenkins. Nancy was a graduate of St. Augustine High School, Class of 1955. She started her first job at the five and ten cent store. She also worked at the Grafton City Hospital. In 1959, she moved to Chillicothe and started working at New Reliance Industrial Supply. In 1962, she began working at the VA Medical Center, where she met her future husband, Robert. She then went to work at Weisenberger Insurance Service for over 30 years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all. She will be missed by all who loved her. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Thursday, June 23, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. William Hahn, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, where a wake service will be held at 8pm.
