Nancy Dickey

Nancy Lee Dickey, 84, of Chillicothe, died on her 84 th birthday, September 6, 2017, at National Church Residences-Chillicothe.   She was born September 6, 1933, in Dayton, OH to the late Wilfred and Bertha Davenport Roberts. On October 28, 1978 she married Donald R. Dickey, who preceded her in death August 23, 2003. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia (William) Nichols, of Waverly; two sons, William Dickey, of Waverly and Daniel Dickey, of South Carolina; step-children, Jan (Sandy) Dickey, Dyanna Lambert, Dale, Dawn, and Dean Dickey; grandchildren, Tom (Brenda) Nichols, Tony (Elaine) Nichols, Dana (Will) Smith, Bryan Dickey, Holly (Jess) Sumrall, Amber Dickey and William Dickey, Jr; eight great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two children, James and John (Sharon) Dickey; a step-child, David Dickey; two sisters, Jeanette (Bob) Schneider and Jane (Doug) Kramer; and three brothers, Edward (Mary) Frederick (Charolette), and Del Roberts.   Mrs. Dickey was a retired restaurant owner and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved her family more than life itself and was very proud of each one of them. She thoroughly enjoyed her role as the family matriarch.    Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Bainbridge Cemetery, followed by a family gathering and special fireworks tribute. Calling hours will not be observed.
