Nancy Brown

Nancy L. Brown, 78, of Chillicothe, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, following an extended illness.   She was born December 16, 1939 in Ross Co. to the late George and Emmarean Ackley. On May 16, 1959 she married Purl F. Brown, who survives. Also surviving are her children, Jeannette (Eric) VanBuskirk, of Kingston, Joyce (David) Johnson, Chillicothe, Joseph (Beth) Brown, Waverly, and James (Jennifer) Brown, Chillicothe; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 12 siblings and a grandson, Josiah VanBuskirk.   Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Huntington High School. She was a member of Centerpoint Church and retired as a Registrar with the Pike Co. Board of Health. She enjoyed spending time with family, and working word searches, jigsaw puzzles, and crossword puzzles.   Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with her grandson, Pastor Christopher VanBuskirk officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call 5-7 pm Thursday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
