Myers Sewards

Myers M. "Coonie" Sewards, 78, of Chillicothe, died at 2:29am December 9, 2013, at Westmoreland Place following an extended illness. He was born June 8, 1935, in Ross County to the late Elmer and Rosa (Johnson) Sewards. On May 23, 1987, he married Vicki L. Maughmer, who preceded him in death on January 9, 2013. Surviving are his step-children Rhonda (Richard) Hammond, Columbus; Ellen Tanner, Chillicothe; Zenobia (Anthony) Glenn-Thomas, Columbus; and Larry Maughmer, St. Petersburg, FL; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister Betty Mickey, Columbus; and several nieces and nephews including a special niece Kate Luckett. He was predeceased by a son Curtis Lee Maughmer; his brothers Gilbert, Stanford and Robert Sewards; and sisters Mary Smith, Sarah Netter, Dora Luckett and Georgia Jackson. Coonie worked at the at the former Stoutie's Bus Depot and Wear-Ever Aluminum Corporation. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of HALLER FUNERAL HOME. Calling hours will not be observed.
