Morris C. Scott, 78, of Frankfort, died 12:28 pm, Saturday, July 26, 2008, in his home. Military graveside funeral services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Firing Squad, and Rev. Roger Ford, will be held 1:00 pm Thursday in the Twin Township Cemetery. Calling hours will not be observed. He was born April 23, 1930 in Bainbridge, OH to George W. and Margaret Morris Scott Sr. On July 24, 1963 he married Gloria Trent Scott, who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Mary Scott, of Pickerington; 2 sisters, Jane Nelson, of Bainbridge and Mary Cole, of Dayton; a special brother-in-law and friend, Ellsworth "Joe" Trent; a special family friend, Lynn McCarley; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Garrett Trent; sisters-in-law, Madeline Trent, Charlotte (William) Tucker, Julia (Gene) Lowe, Alice (James) Trent, Anna Lowe, Cora Brown, and Lillian (George) Scott; a brother-in-law, Roosevelt Cutter; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Scott Jr.; and 2 sisters, Joan Hall and Patty Cutter. Mr. Scott was a retired member of the US Army and served in the US Air Force. He served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, earning several medals for his service. He retired from DuPont in 1995 as an electrician. He was a member of the Ross Co. Senior Citizens and the American Legion Post 14, Bainbridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 870 Michigan Ave., Columbus, OH 43215.
