S. Monroe "Roe" Sullivan, 93, of Chillicothe, died Tuesday afternoon, December 5, 2006, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born November 4, 1913, in Greenup, KY, to the late James C. and Marry B. (Raybron) Sullivan. His wife, the former Sallie A. Manuel, preceded him in death on June 18, 1994. Surviving are his sons Jim, Joe, Tom, Clyde, Marshall, and Dave Sullivan; daughters Phyllis Leasure, Kathy Felts, Kay Rhoades, and Linda Steele; 51 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister Carrie Kemper. He was predeceased by his sons Orville, Earl, and Sam Sullivan; brothers Homer, Tom, Daniel, and Bill; and sisters Alice Templin, Mary Forbes, and Ella Sullivan. Monroe attended Sugar Run Church when his health permitted. He was a farmer and worked construction. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, December 9, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Leasure officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8pm Friday at Haller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Health Foundation, Friends of Hospice, 272 Hospital Rd., Chillicothe.
