Minnie Cousins

Minnie Marcella Thompson Cousins, 64, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Ohio State University Hospitals James Cancer Center, Columbus. She was born August 5, 1946 in Chillicothe to the late Carlo B. and Viola M. Anderson Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John A. Thompson and sister Ruth G. Harris. Survivors include her loving children, Larry (Christina) Cousins Jr., of Logan, Rolanda Cousins and Skyland (Jennifer) Cousins, both of Chillicothe; three sisters, Gloria Southers, Hiram, CA, Loretta (Larry) Portis and Kay (Ronald) Miller, both of Springfield; a brother, William (Sondra) Thompson, of Chillicothe; nine grandchildren, Shanelle, Keion, Savannah, Marcella, Jasmine, Madison, and Hailee Cousins, Jada, Damon and Destinee Keel; and a host of nieces and nephews. Minnie retired from the Adena Regional Medical Center in 2005 and served her community for 15 years. She was a graduate of the Southeastern Business College and Hocking Technical College. She was a mentor for the PAL/Carver after school programs. She had a passion for sewing and quilting. She was a member of the New Life Christian Church, 1033 Dayton St., where funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, Pastor Skip Cousins officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 11-1 pm Tuesday at the church.
