Mildred "Mike" LaGard, 87, of Chillicothe, died 12:48 pm, November 2, 2021, at her home.
She was born August 11, 1934 in Parkersburg, WV to the late George W. and Blanche M. Hayes Black. On November 3, 1956 she married Robert L. LaGard, who survives. Also surviving are three siblings, George Black, Blanche Black, and Clara Bee, all of Parkersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Black and Mary Dillon.
Mrs. LaGard retired as a Registered Nurse in 1989 after 34 years of service with the Adena Health System. She participated in the delivery of over 7000 babies in her career. She was a member of the US Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol, serving as a Medical Officer and First Lieutenant. She and Bob travelled extensively throughout the United States.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, with her brother-in-law, Dale Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
