Michael Alan Richardson, 71, of Chillicothe, passed from this life December 12, 2021 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. He was a loving son, husband, father, paw-paw and friend.
He was born September 15, 1950 in Chillicothe to Ruth A. Richardson. Surviving is his wife, Karen; son, Ryan Wiltshire, of San Diego, CA; daughter, Danielle Wiltshire, of Chillicothe; a granddaughter, the love of his life and his princess, Halle; an uncle, Chester Collins, of Chillicothe; cousins, Patty (John) Aliosio, Tim (Kristin) Boyer, and Lisa Downing, all of Chillicothe and Darlene (Don) Slater, of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews; and lifelong best friends, Craig and Anita Sulzer.
Mike graduated from Chillicothe High School, Class of 1969. He enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed in California and Turkey. He retired from the Mead Paper Company. Mike loved to socialize and never met a stranger. He loved his fellow veterans and club life with the AMVETS Post 4, American Legion Post 62 and VFW Post 108. Mike loved kids and volunteered at Bishop Flaget School for playground and lunch duties. He was an avid reader, a journaler, and Packer fan. He loved music and going to concerts. He enjoyed traveling, camping and the outdoors. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends who loved him very much.
A celebration of his life and military tribute, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will be held 5:00 pm Friday at AMVETS Post 4. Live music and remembrances will follow from 7:00-10:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bishop Flaget School, Heating and Air Conditioning Fund or Playground Fund, at 570 Parsons Ave., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
