Michael Jones

Michael Allen Jones, 79, of Chillicothe, passed away Thursday evening, May 5, 2022 at the Adena Regional Medical Center.
He was born October 31, 1942, in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Donald M. Jones, Jr. and Betty Jean (Decamp) Clark. On December 20, 1986, he married his beloved wife, Theresa (Robinson) Jones, and together they shared over 35 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, surviving are three children, Aron (Hillary) Jones, Erik Jones, and Angie Bosstic; grandchildren, Audrey, Andrew, Jaelyn, Amelia, Ashley, Alison, and Alex; great-grandchildren, Xzavier and Payton; and two brothers, Ted (Jo) Jones, and Tom Jones. In addition to his father Donald, and his mother Betty, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Richard Clark; and two brothers, Tim Jones, and Terry Jones.
Mike was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army serving from 1960-1968 in the Field Artillery Branch. He began his career at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center where he worked as a psychiatric nursing assistant and retired in 1996 after 30 years of employment. He was a former member of the American Legion, VFW, AMVETS and Moose Lodge in Chillicothe. In his free time, he could be found listening to his favorite music, watching Western movies, and loved watching Monday night football; especially the Dallas Cowboys. He also had a great love of antique cars, animals, gardening, and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. But above all else, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who meant the world to his family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Webb officiating. Military Graveside honors conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a visitation from 12:00pm until the time of the service.
