Michael Fletcher

Michael William Fletcher, 67, peacefully passed away on February 18, 2016 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. Mike was born February 5, 1949 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Burnell and Madeleine (Dougherty) Fletcher. On September 3, 1981, he married Diana (Uhrig) Fletcher who survives. Also surviving, are two daughters and two sons, Cynthia Fletcher of Cincinnati, Elizabeth (Chris) Guibord of Cincinnati, Heath (Janean) Barrows of Vero Beach, FL, and Brent (Lisa) Barrows of Chillicothe; thirteen grandchildren, Rachel (Paul), Logan, Maddie, Sophie, Abby, Will, Lucy, Hanna, Trenton, Colin, Cade, Brady, and Keltie; and a brother, James "Pat" (Jo Ann) Fletcher of Chillicothe. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by an infant sister, Nora Kay. Mike was a 1967 graduate of Bishop Flaget High School and then worked at Mead–Chilpaco for more than 40 years. After retirement, he continued consulting as a supplier for the paper mill. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, hunting, fishing, and any activity involving his grandchildren. Mike was a member of the local Moose Lodge 1626 where he regularly met and joked with great friends. The family would like to thank the Hematology/Oncology Team at The James Cancer Hospital who partnered with him during his brave battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. In accordance to Mike's wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Friends are asked to consider a memorial contribution in his name to The James Cancer Hospital, fund #311829.
