Meredith Hammond

Meredith D. Hammond, 86, of Chillicothe, died Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born December 28, 1925 in Melmor, OH to the late Dudley H. and Clara L. Haas Hammond. Survivors include a brother, Lowell D. Hammond; a sister, Jean E. Hammond Smith; brothers-in-law, Walter E. Smith and Eldred O. Graves; sisters-in-law, Peggy Cox Hammond, Barbara Bowdle Hammond and Darlene Preston Hammond; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald J. and Garrett F. Hammond; and a sister, Kathryn L. Hammond Graves. Meredith retired from the CSX (B & O Chessie) Railroad following 29 years of service. He was a World War II US Army Veteran. A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm, Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the Haller Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
