Melvin C. Jones, 62, of Chillicothe, died February 27, 2023, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born April 16, 1960 in Chillicothe to Melvin H. and Georgia Thomas Jones. Survivors include his mother; three children, William and Brandon Jones, and Brentney (Seth) Pittenger, all of Chillicothe; six grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor (Maurice) Callender and Marie Jones, both of Chillicothe; a brother, Michael (Bobbie) Jones, of Chillicothe; special cousins, Howard and Wayne Thomas; and a friend who was like a brother to Melvin, Thomas Barnett.
Melvin retired from the Chillicothe-Ross County Public Library. He was a member of Chillicothe Agape Fellowship and enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, bowling and automobiles.
Graveside funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Saturday in Greenlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will not be observed.
