Melvin Beverly

Melvin L. Beverly, 69, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly at 4:58pm on January 10, 2009, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday in the Haller Funeral Home with Elder Larry Grant officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veteran Honor Guard will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 11am until 1pm at Haller Funeral Home. Melvin was born June 19, 1939, in Chillicothe, the tenth son of the late Essie Shelton and Mariah Gertrude Henderson Beverly. Surviving are his children: Anthony Beverly; Tonja Barker, both of Michigan; Belinda (Coey) Harewood; Nichole Beverly; Ladonna Beverly; Cindy Beverly; Mariah Beverly, all of Chillicothe; Lorna Beverly, South Carolina; Melvin Beverly, Columbus; 19 grandchildren; sisters Willa Carlos, Akron, OH; Elizabeth (Robert) McFarland; Ilene (James) Belton, all of California; and Sharon (Gary), of New Jersey; brothers David Beverly, Frankfort; Charles Beverly, Massillon, OH; Harold Beverly, Fort Myers, FL; and Jon Beverly, Akron, OH. He was predeceased by sisters Clara Grant and Rosetta Marie Gibson; and brothers Sylvester, Walter, Eugene, Richard and Robert Beverly. Melvin was a former member of Emmanuel Tabernacle Baptist Church Apostolic Faith. He was a US Air Force Korean Conflict Veteran.
