Melissa Barker

Melissa Jane Barker, 57, of Chillicothe, OH, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 following a long battle with health complications.

She was born on December 19, 1965 to Dianna Recobs, who survives, and the late James Recobs, Sr. She is also survived by her husband, Shawn Barker, Sr.

Melissa was a loving mother to her three sons, Joshua (Ashleigh) Flannery, Shawn (Rachel) Barker II, and the late Seth Flannery. She was also a grandmother to Ella, Kinslee, and Jackson. In addition, surviving are three sisters, Deborah (Tim) Neuberger, Pamela Mitchell, and Tina (Ronnie) Carroll; as well as one brother, Charles Recobs; her mother-in-law Donna Barker; brothers-in-law Ronald (Brenda) Barker Jr, Anthony (Kristi) Barker, Dustin (Jamie) Barker, and sisters-in-law Nina (Mike) Howard, Rebecca (Anthony) Zubkoff, and Angela Barker; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Melissa was preceded in death by her beloved son Seth and her dad Jim; as well as her father-in-law Ronald Barker Sr, and two brothers, James Recobs Jr, and Nolan Recobs.

Melissa was a kind and loving soul. She loved training and watching race horses. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family, but we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her son, Seth.
