Melanie Ashton

Melanie J. Ashton, 66, of Chillicothe, died 1:01 pm, May 29, 2022, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a second battle with cancer.

She was born June 20, 1955 in Washington CH to the late Eugene and Elda J. Mossbarger Heath.  On October 7, 1988 she married John R. Ashton, who survives.  Also surviving are 3 children, Chad (Angie) Coil, Carrie Ashton, and John (Ashley Neely) Ashton Jr., all of Chillicothe; 12 grandchildren, Shawn (Alex Burnett) Daniels, Brittany (John) Hettinger, Melissa (Tyler Bolin) Daniels, Heath, Cami, Raeley and Chadalyssia Coil, Alexsha King, Hayden, Ryder and Jayce Ashton and Jaden Herrold; 7 great-grandchildren, Zayden, Tucker, Cashton, Kaselyn, Kaisley, Evelyn and Hallie Jo; 2 siblings, Ed (Cheryl) Heath, of Knoxville, TN and Jim (Sharon) Heath, of Washington CH; and special "sisters" Kristy, Janice, Debbie, and Michelle.  She was preceded in death by 2 siblings, Robert and Steve Heath.

Melanie was employed for over 17 years by the Kroger company and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  The most precious time she spent was with family.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Ralph Cyrus officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  Friends may call 2-5 pm Sunday at Haller's.
