Maxine Liggins

Maxine J. Liggins, 77, of Chillicothe, died 10:50 pm, Thursday, March 19, 2009, in her home, following an extended illness. She was born January 2, 1932 in McGoffin Co., KY to William Thomas and Liza Jane Howard Tackett. On July 25, 1970 she married Roger L. Liggins, who survives. Also surviving are her daughters, Chestine (Mack) Walk, of Waverly, Ruby (Scott) Sherwood, of Londonderry, Ellen (Sanford) Crisp, of Wellston, Patsy Cottrill, of Circleville, Opal (Steve) Hutton and Charlene (Larry) Conley, both of Chillicothe; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Rose, Rose Detty, Gloria Loel, and Versie Butterbaugh; two brothers, Robert and Harlan Tackett. She was preceded in death by two sons Thomas and Calvin Johnston and three brothers, William, Cecil and Burley Tackett. Mrs. Liggins was a member of Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall and the Ross Co. Senior Citizens. Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm Tuesday in the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 12-2 and 5-8 pm Monday at Haller's.
