Maxine J. Derexson, 93, of Delaware, formerly of Chillicothe, died 10:30 am, December 18, 2021 at her daughter's home, following a brief illness.
She was born February 12, 1928 in Chillicothe to the late Herbert and Emma Smith Shaw. On April 13, 1993 she married James Derexson, who died November 4, 2019. Survivors include three children, Jeffrey (Nancy) Parker, of Pickerington; Melody (Terry) Feaver, of Delaware, and James (Patty) Parker of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Tiffany (Erik) Watkins, Adam (Kassy) Ross, Jeffrey Parker Jr., Tamara (Doug) Corrigan, and Michael Parker; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Laverne Ginther and Betty Borland.
Mrs. Derexson retired from the Canteen at the VA Medical Center-Chillicothe.
Graveside funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday in Springbank Cemetery. Friends may call 11:30 am – 12:30 pm at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to Scioto Lodge 6 F&AM, Scholarship Fund, 57 E. Main St., Chillicothe OH 45601.
