Mary Rosalene "Rose" (Tackett) Malone, 83, of Chillicothe, Ohio died January 2, 2025, at Adena Hospital.
Mrs. Malone was a graduate of Southeastern High School class of 1959 in Richmond Dale, Ohio. Before her retirement in 2001 she was the manager of Gold N Gems at Montgomery Wards in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Rose was a loving wife and mother who would do anything for her family, taking a house and making it a loving home in places from Ohio to Virginia to Florida and beyond. In the furtherance of her husband's Naval career, she was always outstanding in moving anywhere, with 3 children, even halfway around the world to fulfill the needs of the government. One of her greatest adventures was making a home in Japan and traveling to sites in the far east from shopping in Hong Kong to the fertility festivals in Tokyo. She would have followed her husband anywhere. After retirement, her favorite times were traveling with her husband to various adventures and in later years, monthly gatherings with Southeastern classmates and the weekly get together with her sisters .
Survivors include her husband of over 60 years, John W. Malone; two daughters, Dr. Vicki Lynn (Ric) Waytowich of Jacksonville, Florida and Mrs. Mary Kathleen (Kathy) (Paul) Kelly of Bloomingdale, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Dr . Nicholas Roy Waytowich (fiancé Elizabeth Cardenas), Ms. Danica Rose Waytowich, Alexander John Waytowich, Keith Michael (Zariel) Kelly and bonus granddaughter, Michelle Miller (Chris); six sisters, Mrs. Joyce Haddox of Pleasant Valley, Mrs. Shirley Welch, Mrs. Nola Braucher and Mrs. Nana Dempsey all of Chillicothe, Mrs. Caroline Daloisi of Waverly, Ohio and Mrs. Sherry (Tom) Plowman of Lexington, Kentucky and sister-in - law Mrs. Freda Pigman of Leesburg, Florida as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Michael John Malone and her brothers Jimmie and Gary Tackett and brothers-in-law Perry Daloisi, Bob Braucher, Ronald Dempsey, Elwood Haddox and Carroll Pigman . She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Rose's Life will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Thursday, January 9
th
, 2025, at 11:00am. Calling hours will be from 10:00am to 11:00 am at the church. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
