Mary Romans

Mary Ethel Romans went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 18, 2016. She was born on July 15, 1927, in Pike County, OH to the late Charles and Mary (Cordle) Pettit. On July 5, 1946, she married Charles Romans and together they raised 5 children and one grandson. Surviving are two sons, Chuck (Kay) Romans and Tom (Mary) Romans; daughter-in-law Marsha Romans; son-in-law Walter Crawford; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sons Frosty and Stephen; a daughter Barbara; and grandson Chad Crawford. Mary was a school bus driver for Unioto Schools for 25 years. She had many good memories of the students on the bus and enjoyed driving them. She cherished her church family at Springbank, where most Sundays the pastor would ask, "Mary, do you have a song for us today?" She was always willing to sing. Although she couldn't read a note, she loved music, singing and playing the harmonica, guitar and organ. The family is grateful beyond words to the Vineyards of Concord for their tender and loving care of their mom. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Tuesday, August 23, at Springbank UMC, 23888 State Route 104, with Pastor Jim Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery. Friends may call from 11am until 12pm at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 205 North St., Lucasville, OH 45648.
