Mary Ellen Roll, 92, of Kingston, died at 12:20pm March 27, 2023, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born December 13, 1930, in Laurelville, to the late Gerald D. and Gertrude E. (Steele) Rose. On June 13, 1949, she married George J. Roll, who preceded her in death on October 17, 1999. She is survived by her daughter Debra McCord, of Kingston; grandsons: Kent (Brandy) McCord, of Kingston, and Chad (Courtney) McCord, of Pace, FL; and great-grandchildren Katelyn and Connor McCord, both of Kingston; and Zachary and Caleb McCord, both of Pace, FL. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, George; and brothers Thomas and Richard Rose. Mary Ellen worked as an Avon Representative for over 43 years from 1973 until 2016. She was also an avid bowler, which she began in 1964. She served as secretary and treasurer for several years for many different bowling leagues. In 1982 she became the Chillicothe Women's Bowling Association Secretary and from 2006 -2016 served as the CWBA Manager. Throughout her 52-year career, she bowled in numerous local, state and national bowling tournaments. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to several who assisted them, including: Sharon Anderson, Darcee Blake Pierce, Pat and David Roll and friends, Shelly Kutschbach Horch, and the staff of ProMedica Hospice, especially Teresa Reed, RN and Tabby Shoemaker. Her funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday, Apr. 2, 2023, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Barry Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Hallsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-6pm Saturday at the funeral home. Following the committal service at the cemetery, family and friends are invited to the Laurelville VFW Park, 16107 Main St., Laurelville, to enjoy a meal and continue fellowship.
