Mary Jane Lieurance, 84, of Chillicothe, passed away late Thursday night, September 16, 2021 at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born March 29, 1937, in Highland County, Ohio, daughter of the late Overton Templin and Florence Mildred (Everetts) Reno. On July 31, 1954, she married Max Clifford Lieurance, and together they shared over 64 years of marriage before his passing September 8, 2020.
Surviving are their children, Cynthia L. (Ron) Henderson, Connie L. (Robert) Mollard, David D. (Brenda) Lieurance, and Colleen K. Steele; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley L. Cunningham and Donna K. Hiles, and a special niece Patricia Vance Bauman. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Eileen Vance.
Mary Jane was a graduate of Leesburg Fairfield High School. She went on to work as an Administrative Assistant with the Mercy Hospital in Hamilton, Ohio for many years before retiring. Upon her retirement, she and her husband moved to the Chillicothe area where she became an officer for the Henderson Pharmacy Services, Inc. She was a founding member of the Renaissance Singers, was a 4-H Advisor, and belonged to and was active in the church choir wherever they lived. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, homemaking, sewing, and floral gardening, especially marigolds and zinnias.
A Celebration of Life with Music will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Haller Funeral Home with her son-in-law, Reverend Robert Mollard officiating. Friends may join the family for a visitation from 1:00pm until the time of the service. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Leesburg, Ohio will directly follow the service.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. John Gabis and Dr. John Seidensticker for their care and support. The very kind Adena Hospice nurses enabled Mary Jane to pass in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by all her loved ones.
