Mary Ann Krug (formerly Cahill), age 90, passed away on January 15, 2026 in the home of her daughter, Mary Lou Mason, in Jacksonville, Florida. She passed surrounded by her five daughters. Born on July 20, 1935 in Chillicothe, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John and Ida Cahill.
Mary Ann is survived by her children: Peggy Glatz (Chris Lander), Nancy Minney (Joe), Dorothy Balzer (John), Mary Lou Mason (Todd) and Kathy Cloud (Gary). She is also survived by her brother Thomas Cahill (Pat) of Dayton, Ohio, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Krug (Jim); sisters Virginia Schrader, Mildred Cramer and Carol Lane and brothers Eddie Cahill and Jackie Cahill.
Mary Ann was co-owner of Krug’s Dairy Queen in Bainbridge and a registered nurse with Drs. MacCarter and McKell Physicians, Chillicothe Hospital and Chillicothe Family Physicians. She was involved in her Bainbridge community including Girl Scouts, volunteer nursing service, Fall Festival of Leaves leadership and Paxton Area Life Squad. She retired from Ross County Home Health. She was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Chillicothe.
Mary Ann was a long-time resident of Chillicothe and Bainbridge, Ohio. She relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in her later years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. During her life, Mary Ann found much joy in sewing clothes for her family, listening to music, singing and dancing, including square dancing and ballroom dancing. Her loving spirit, smile and kindness will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. She loved well and was well loved.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church followed by burial at St. Margaret Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to True Vine Outreach in Chillicothe, the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
