Mary Graves

Mary Ellen Graves, 93, died at 1:56pm Thursday December 21, 2017, at her residence following a brief illness.   She was born January 24, 1924, in Ross County to the late William E. and Willetta (Stein) Bair. On November 25, 1948, she married John Herbert Graves, who preceded her in death on August 14, 2009.   She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law John M. (Cynthia) Graves, of Chillicothe; her granddaughter Ashley Jo Graves, Chillicothe; her cousin Dorothy Fogle, Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant sister, and brothers: Charles, George "Bud," Richard "Dick," and Gerald "Jerry" Bair.   Mary Ellen was a member of St. Mary Church where she served on the bereavement committee. She was a graduate of St. Mary High School and worked as a teller at the First National Bank.  The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers of Adena Hospice for their care.   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, December 23, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.   Memorial contributions may be made to Adena Health Foundation, Hospice Services, 9 S. Paint St., Chillicothe, OH 45601. At her request, there will be no calling hours.
