Mary Detty

Mary E. Detty, 73, of Londonderry, died 10:40 pm, February 14, 2011, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, unexpectedly. She was born August 3, 1937 in Dingus, KY to the late Hyman and Nora Hamilton Gambill. In October of 1959 she married Delano R. Detty, who survives. Also surviving are her sons, David (Marilyn) Detty and Gary Detty, both of Marysville, and Elmer (Ruth) Detty, of Londonderry; 8 grandchildren, Phyllisa, Marisa, Dempsey, Joshua, Joseph, Jeffrey, Trustin and Whitney; 7 great-grandchildren, Jastyn, Jehri, Caelin, Candra, Logan, Tyler, and Eleora; a sister, Rebecca (Bob) Copeland, of Cedar Bluff, AL; 3 brothers, Ralph (Pearl) Gambill, of Albany, OH, B.J. (Judy) Gambill, of Cedar Bluff, AL, and Kenneth (Debbie) Gambill, of New Marshfield, OH; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Gambill; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Willy and Auty Gambill and 2 sisters, Betty Betts and Ruie Gay. Mrs. Detty was a member of the Richmond Dale Church of Christ and the Tops Club of Chillicothe. She enjoyed cooking, homemaking and spending time in Florida with her friends. The family extends special thanks to the staff at Traditions of Chillicothe for their care. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home, Pastor Dean Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 pm Friday or one hour prior to the service at Haller's on Saturday.
